JV Speech: ages 8-11; Public Forum: ages 10-13 (9 and 14 with coach approval)

The camp fee, due August 8, includes the camp book/handouts and snacks. Students may bring their own lunch and will have access to a microwave if they’d like to warm it up. 

Carolina Speech and Debate will host their annual camp August 10-13. The camp is an intensive program led by experienced coaches and nationally competitive students. It’s designed for students who want to learn the basics of speech and debate. Campers will get a strong start to the year by learning key skills, watching live debates and speeches from top-ranked students, and participating in hands-on activities. By the end, students will gain confidence, improve their speaking abilities, and be ready for the upcoming season. 

For varsity students who are absolutely unable to attend, recorded sessions will be provided. These will need to be watched prior to the first club meeting, ensuring everyone begins the year equally prepared.

**The ages for Public Forum overlaps with Team Policy. If your child is 12-14 they can participate in the whole week of camp (Varsity and JV) to help determine which event they'd like to be a part of for club.
