Kelly and Rob, her husband of 30 years, have loved educating five unique and competitive personalities. They've all competed in speech and debate, and it's been incredible to see how they've applied those skills as they've transitioned from homeschooling into professional careers.

She has been coaching Public Forum since 2017, Novice Team Policy since 2022, and directing the local tournaments since 2021. Outside of the classroom, she is Southview Baptist Church’s nursery coordinator and a flight school manager. She has a love for the speech and debate community and is passionate about supporting students and families with this incredible opportunity.

Chantelle’s homeschooling journey began in 2008. Wife to Norman and mother of three, Chantelle’s family attends Southview Baptist Church where she is active in her women’s Journey group. In addition to homeschooling and teaching co-op classes, Chantelle teaches and tutors English and Reading remotely.

Chantelle began coaching Varsity Speech with Carolina Speech and Debate in 2023. Her experience as a member of her high school debate team, high school & college theater, and specialization in English provides a varied skill set that spans the wide variety of Speech events. Chantelle believes in the importance of teaching the current generation to speak with confidence, integrity, and passion so that they may “speak boldly and change the world for Christ” (Stoa Mission Statement.) 

When Chantelle is not coaching, she enjoys photography, singing, and spending time with her family.

Stacey and her husband Thomas have been married since 2001 and have been homeschooling their three boys since 2015. Stacey serves as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator at Cape Fear Baptist Church in Gray’s Creek where Thomas is the Family Pastor.

Stacey began coaching Varsity Speech in 2024 and has a passion for helping students communicate clearly and humbly. She enjoys the challenge that the variety of speech events provides and loves helping students find their niche in competition.

Matthew Ferri is the Student Pastor at Southview Baptist Church where he and his wife grew up. At Regent University, Matthew competed in undergraduate Moot Court debate and competed nationally at the Orlando tournament as part of his government degree. 

He and his wife, Danielle, enjoy spending time with their four kids and church family, reading, and playing games.

Matthew is joing Carolina Speech and Debate as the Lincoln Douglas Debate coach.
